Choose a useful starting point

Begin with Tu and Lei in a first Italian conversation. Read the short answer, then work through the examples in order. Each lesson isolates one decision at a time, so you can connect a form to the message it expresses. Later examples show the limits of the initial pattern and common confusions that a simple translation can hide.

Explain a contrast before choosing an answer

For each pair of examples, identify what changed: the speaker, the number of items, the relationship between speakers, or the intended meaning. Follow the worked example and then cover its answer. The production tasks ask you to build a message before the multiple choice challenge supplies possible forms. Use the explanation for every choice to repair the cause of an error.

Carry the lesson into a short exchange

Say one sentence that is true for you and ask a related question. Change the listener or one detail of the situation, then rebuild the sentence. Return after a break and reconstruct the message without the model. A remembered explanation is useful when it helps you create a new sentence, and the cited references let you check the rule or usage behind an unfamiliar case.
